Hi, I'm Melissa Smith

This is my Story

My gardening journey began with a shady back porch and a trip to the garden center. Of course I bought all sun lovers except one. The shady asparagus fern lived (for many years- we called it "Ugly".) 
I progressed to a sun filled, second story deck with a raised bed planter and some pots- grew tomatoes and herbs. 
Through the following years, I went through many gardening spaces until we finally owned our first home and I created a raised bed vegetable garden that quickly became overtaken with flowers. 
The cut flower farm came a few years later and well the rest is history as they say. 

Through each iteration of gardening space, I faced new challenges and failed many times. But failure brings a chance to learn, a chance to try again. 

Here in the Petal Society, I want to share the lessons learned through my many failures- big and small. I hope to save you some time, stress and frustration through sharing what I've learned the hard way.
